RSA certificate (Responsible Service of Alcohol)
This one day course is a necessary requirement for working in bars in Australia. All staff involved in the sale, supply or promotion of alcohol need to complete the course. The RSA is a competency based 6-hour program with a certificate issued on completion of the course. Pre-book your spot before you leave for Australia so that you don't have to wait to start working!
Green Card (Accredited Safety Induction Training for Construction)
In order to work in construction you need to complete a 1 day construction course. According to the Australian Occupational Health and Safety regulations, if you are involved in a trade or simply working on a construction site, like most working holiday makers do, you are legally required to have attended the Work cover Accredited Safety Induction Training for Construction Course - commonly known as 'the Green Card'.
This course provide participants with basic principles of health and safety in the construction industry and information about preventing workplace injury and illness, workplace injury management and workers compensation in New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.
Visa Extension Services
As you are leaving for Australia on a working holiday visa, make sure to also register for the extension service. Most people going to Australia are unaware that in many cases they are entitled to apply for a sponsorship visa, and thus lengthen their stay to last up to 4 years.
