In order to work in construction you need to complete a 1 day construction course. According to
the Australian Occupational Health and Safety regulations, if you are involved in a trade or simply
working on a construction site, like most working holiday makers do, you are legally required to have
attended the Work cover Accredited Safety Induction Training for Construction Course - commonly known as
'the Green Card'.
This course provide participants with basic principles of health and safety in the construction
industry and information about preventing workplace injury and illness, workplace injury management
and workers compensation in New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.
